I hope you got a rudder system  could've got you going in a bad angle and flipped you. Maybe lose some gear in the meantime. Good to hear you got out of that safe :)

Goodluck & be careful out there.

Maybe some guys want to tangle with a billfish on their kayaks. But personally I want nothing to do with one. I'm happy it snapped off but am also happy I hooked into it and got to watch it ***p it's lid. I keep the drag light enough that I won't huli, You can't have the drag locked down like on a boat.

Hey Ev, Ken from Canada here. Nice to hear from you and back in BI now, huh? Gotta love BI with that deep water close to shore. Never know what you are going to hook into. What did you use for bait? I assume you were trolling?

Glad you didn't huli or get tow out to sea. :D

There may be a conference that I could attend in Maui next Sept/Oct...and I'll try real hard to convince my professor to let me attend. If I do, depends on where you are living at the time, maybe we hook up and holoholo again. :D

Anyways, take care my friend. Send me your new BI address on AH and if I found some cool flies or tied some new ones, I'll send them over and let you try them out.

A hui hou brah!

The fish turned that color because freshwater has alot of mud in it absorbing into the fishes skin or scales turning it brown like that.thats why a lot of freshwater fish turn brown
