Pin in spool

Post by Roadrunner808 » Sun Jun 09, 2013 3:29 pm

I have a jigmaster and was wondering if removing the pin on the spool is ok. im guessing the pin is there to secure the line to the spool. it jus makes it hard to line the spool evenly. or if i get another spool would the new spool have the pin as well.

From our understanding..Yes you can pull out the pin. Primary purpose was to tie your mainline here to start...and in case of a non-stop run..the pin would pull out ..saving you from losing reel and warping the spool... Penn Jigmasters- metal spools use to be two piece and many times when near the end..the fish would warp the spools...!

Aloha, Still you should be able to wind line in...We never had a problem of it being in the way...
