Post by kona-ulua-style » Tue Sep 22, 2009 6:50 am

Hello, A friend just caught a 7lb Mu...and mention "Sashimi" cut real thin......a wasbi, soy sauce mix.....sounds great!

Anyone else had the "MU" Sashimi style? .....

yeah, get that firm crunchy texture like most white meat fish but also get one slightly "crabby" flavor...

i think it's the best sashimi i had with the local reef fish.better than moi.
alot of fish has a reefy taste to it but the mu has a clean no after taste to it.
by the way, i'm a sushi chef and lived in japan for 6 years too. had many fish but gotta say, mu is the best inshore reef fish to eat. :D
i think it's the only fish i'll take home and not share it other people(that's if i catch one. )
