Kualoa netters

Post by 44808 » Fri Jul 16, 2010 1:27 am

Who:?

What: illegal lay netters

When: Past few months early morning/night.

Where: 2nd strip of beach after the Kualoa beachpark entrance Kahuku bound.

Truck is a early to mid 90s model Ford f-250 two tone red & white in color trailer in tow (sometimes). Typically every 2-3 days. Just this morning i also noticed the boat ( est 15' w/2 stroke motor). Usual tarping over nets..id say had 5 plus pieces of net filled half the boat up to the top of the gunnels.

Never called dlnr to make a report but if anyone sees um have at it. Goodluck

RB Curious how you can tell how many nets get in his boat if all covered with tarp? what did you do stop and look, because it's dark at night and if you just driving past how can you tell? its not illegal to lay net at kualoa is it? how can you tell how big the eye on the net they using or how long it is? i not saying they running all legal stuff, but you are making a pretty strong accusation if you just driving past and looking at them.

BT this is your back yard/home grounds did you call dlnr when you saw them? you like the mayor down the east side even if you stay fishing on the other side of the island nowadays. new rules old rules no matter if we going just look the other way and say nothing...we gotta help each other out even if we have little faith in the dlnr system, thats all we got right now.

For all i know there's 10 pieces...its a good amount of net that was on the boat..could be one continous piece idk brah. I could bet $ thier running into k-bay at night though. Either way theres no need for pointing fingers nomotako. I could also bet dlnr passes them every morning..they are known to be the kala guys down this side. Dlnr knows them...they dont bother um.

These are kaaawa residents. I know them somewhat.
