albrighting 300 pound rubline to bimini?

Post by Kauaiboi808 » Sat Jun 08, 2013 8:12 pm

How do you guys albright the 300 pound line to bimini? I've tried and the line is so stiff that the knot won't hold it would always undo itself. Is crimping needed for 300 pound rubline?

Got to pull little by little. As you pull each part you will see it start to cinch down and when you cannot see anymore cinching as you pull then the knot is done. Clip 300 really short i cut mine right at the knot and double tag end about a inch ling. Like takohunter said plenty spit.

Always keep the mono knot wet. We like to use a sprayer bottle of water, keeping the knots wet all the time.

Not sure , why you need to use 300 lb mono leaders..? unless shark fishing?

200lb mono leaders proven for over 30 years for us...and by many long time Ulua fisherman on the Big island.

Aloha

PS: 200 LB Mono is easier to work with, smallerl knot than a 300 lb, cheaper to buy and proven by many long time Ulua fisherman on the Big Island of Hawaii...in some the deepest and roughest fishing areas...! keep things simpler and easier for your self...re-consider going smaller to 200 lb mono leader lines..
