he'eia pier area

Post by papiofisherman » Wed Aug 29, 2012 10:59 pm

Howzit fellow fishermen! i was wondering if anyone has ever tried fishing the flats by the he'eia pier. i was thinking of going some time soon when its low tide and fishing off the drop. i would think bigger fish, possibly papio would cruise the drop off. i would try whipping with a bubble float and grub or a surface plug. what u guys think???

Yo papio, maybe on one extreme low tide can do em? Prolly can walk out there with slippers all da way to da ledge on one extreme low. Lmk how that goes for you.

You may want to try further down the coast by Laenani Beach Park. Walk out from there.

I grew up practically at the pier and I hav had really good luck whipping the edges of the reef on low tides haven't did that in many years .. That was when Ernie Choy owned the deli. Some 30 years ago...
